Wendy Gresmer is a self-taught muralist and canvas artist who has been contracting work for the past 13 years. After studying with Tom Lynch, Chicago watercolorist and Howard Carr, oil impressionist, her paintings have benefited from their styles. From 1995 to 2000, Wendy lived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with her family. There, she painted a wide variety of murals at restaurants, health spas, corridors of a mall, in addition to fine residential homes and palaces in the area. Many private homes in the Chicago area have been painted by Wendy, as well as homes in Naples and private island homes in Southwest Florida. In Illinois, her work can be viewed in person at:

  • the Lalo's restaurant in Chicago on Maxwell Street
  • the Gioia's coffee bar on Congress Parkway and Wabash
  • the New England Congregational Church in Aurora
  • the Aurora Country Club
  • Doreen Schweitzer's Interior Designs and DOTI in Naperville
  • and in Hammond, Indiana, a public art of "the Persistence of Memory" originally painted by Salvador Dali but legally reproduced with permission from the artist's family.
  • the Historic Hotel Baker in Saint Charles, Illinois

"Saint Charles: Past and Present" is the mural that adorns the exterior north wall of the gallery. Designed Wendy, the mural is a montage< of images from the downtown area which includes the Historic Hotel Baker, Baker Memorial Church, the Municipal Building, Century Corners, Saint Patrick Church, downtown shops and restaurants, and much more.
